Volume I, Issue 5        (R.O.D. Reunion Of  the Decades)  February, 2004

First "Real" Planning Meeting

Our first planning meeting, offline was held January 31, 2004 in Ellensburg, WA at Carolyn Allen Denton's '64 home.  There were 6 people in attendance and we covered alot of the reunion particulars.  We will begin to post reunion information the first part of March 2004, so check the website periodically. The dates will not change. I know I said this before but I would like to assure you we are "full speed ahead" with July 23, 24 and 25, 2004.

I have a few final preps with the hotels and we will have that info posted very soon so you can begin the reservation process.

Let me know if you plan to bring anyone under the age of 18.  If this is the case, we need to coordinate some activities for them to do while we are involved in the evening events as well as chaperones for this group, if we have one.

Live band or DJ????   Let me know what you think.  I am still mulling this around in my mind although it appeared that we had decided to go with a DJ.  I am just wondering and not trying to step on Jim's toes to hard.   Send your opinion to Liz: mail@mlhsgrads.org .

I would like you to know we are conscious of the costs involved and we hoping it won't be a hardship for anyone to attend.  I am hoping this reunion will be one to remember for a very long time. That is our focus as we continue with the planning. Our theme for the dinner/dance:

“Hollywood Nights”

As soon as I have all the managers in place for each class year I will email you the information. You can contact them with information about graduates, friends of grads, questions or concerns.

If We Build It
They Will Come!!!!

Have You Seen IT?
http://www.mlhsgrads.org

If you haven’t visited the website yet, please try to find someone with a computer to access the site. We are sure you will be delighted. We have all the grad year pictures with a few bonus years. The “keyed” portion of the site is available to all grads and friends who make a contribution to this endeavor as we would like to keep the site up and running for as long as possible. The “keyed” area protects our addresses and personal information. Speaking of which, send Gary a bio. If you can’t send a picture until another time, that’s okay, but try to get your bio into him for posting. We would like to see more on the website as the reunion draws near. C'mon people it does really make a difference. I'm sure we all have a recent photo individual or with family and jot down a few paragraphs and send it to Gary. Email him for his address if you can't scan the photo he will take care of all the "tech stuff" and return your items post haste. There are alot of folks who would like to read about you and what has taken place in your life these past 30-40 years. Gary’s email: webmaster@mlhsgrads.org

Help Wanted:
If you would like to be involved in some aspect of this reunion please let me know.  I need to know what you would be willing to do.  I need a few more managers for grad years 50’s, 62, 63 and 69, people to assist with decorating for Saturday night’s gala and host or hostess for your grad year.
Ilse Box Long has volunteered to be a Hostess for 1964.
Email me for a Reunion Manager job description if you are interested or to let me know what you would like to help with: mail@mlhsgrads.org.  If I have emailed you and asked you to be a manager let me know.
Thanks so much for the giving of your time and talents.

Why a Medical Lake High School

Grads Organization?

You have probably asked yourself this question many times.  I know I thought alot about it before moving in that direction.  You know we were a great group 1959-1969 and we still can be.  What memories and great friends.  As I continued to watch the website develop, I thought, "We should have an official group, an organization that would be on-going”.  We still aren't to old to meet together annually or semi-annually with our friends whether it be those that attending in 1959 or whatever year chooses.  We plan to maintain the website for as many years possible and we have even registered with the State of Washington as Medical Lake High School Grads Organization 1959-1969.
We will have more information about our organization at the reunion and we would like to hold a short business meeting before the reunion is over.  If you would like more information please let me know.

I recently received a couple of emails
I would like to address.

One email posed a question about qualifying for this reunion?
We don’t have a test you must pass all we ask is that you are a graduate of Medical Lake High School or have attended between the years 1959 – 1969.

Are other graduates allowed to attend?
Well you sure are. You will be expected to register like everyone else and enjoy the reunion events. The only drawback to this is we won’t have t-shirts for other years or schools, but you might have one from a previous reunion you attended. Wear it during our informal get-togethers.

Also, if you have questions or concerns about what is placed on the website please contact the webmaster@mlhsgrads.org
