MEDICAL LAKE HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Dear fellow MLHS Alumni;
We have formed this group with the intent of promoting alumni affairs and to fund and manage a scholarship program for graduating MLHS seniors. A large part of our endeavor will be maintaining a web-site and data base of alumni information.. To that end, we have formed a non-profit corporation within the State of Washington. We have been assigned a Federal EIN and have applied to the federal government for Tax Exempt Status under Section 501(C) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. If successful, it will enable us to qualify any contributions and funds raised as tax deductible to the Donor. Also it will enable us to maintain a stable funding base. While we are not associated with any of the previous reunion groups, (recent Reunion of the Decade for example) we hope to rectify some of the problems of that reunion, i.e. misappropriated funds, unpaid bills and undone Memory Books. We find that situation intolerable and feel it reflects badly on all MLHS grads. While we anticipate various social functions and fund raisers throughout the year, our main focus (annual corporate meeting, Registrations! etc.) will coincide with the annual Founders Day festivities in Medical Lake on Saturday June 18th. We will have a booth set up for collecting information and dues. As with any organization, it takes money to operate. The dues schedule is as follows; Current year grads are free for first year. Annual dues are $10.00 for the rest of this calendar year, $20.00 per annum thereafter. Associate memberships {spouses, friends etc.) are $l0.00 yearly. Charter Memberships ere available until the end of 2005 for $100.00 or more. Life memberships are $300.00. Class of 1950 and prior are entitled to honorary members at no charge. Dues & contributions may be mailed too our treasurer, PeggyLee Hallinan at 512 E. Silver Pines Crt, Spokane, WA. 99005. Checks or money orders only. Anyone wishing to be involved with this organization is most welcome and we cordially invite any MLHS Alumni to come and join in the fun on Founders Day.
